The Most Important Thing You Can Do for Your Engine

Engine oil is your vehicle's lifeblood. It lubricates hundreds of moving parts, reduces friction, helps cool the engine, and carries away harmful deposits and contaminants. Over time, oil degrades — it loses its viscosity, becomes contaminated with combustion by-products, and stops doing its job effectively.

A regular oil change is the single most cost-effective way to extend the life of your engine. Neglecting it can lead to accelerated wear, sludge build-up, and ultimately catastrophic engine failure — repairs that cost many times more than the oil change that would have prevented them.

Which Oil Does My Car Need?

Using the wrong grade of oil can be just as damaging as not changing it at all. We always use the oil specification stated by your vehicle manufacturer — not a generic alternative. Common grades include:

• Fully Synthetic — highest performance, longest intervals, ideal for modern engines and turbocharged vehicles
• Semi-Synthetic — a blend offering improved protection over mineral oil at a lower cost than full synthetic
• Mineral Oil — suitable for older vehicles with less demanding requirements
• Long-Life / Extended Drain — VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes longlife specifications (e.g. VW 504/507, BMW LL-04)

How Often Should I Change My Oil?

• Fully synthetic oil — typically every 10,000–15,000 miles or 12 months
• Semi-synthetic oil — every 6,000–9,000 miles or 12 months
• Mineral oil — every 3,000–5,000 miles or 6–12 months
• Long-life spec (e.g. VW, BMW) — up to 20,000 miles or 2 years, per manufacturer schedule
